Information technology
Athabasca University uses a variety of distance learning methods including multi-media online activities, print materials, Web, e-mail, Internet, CD-Rom, computer software, audio/video conferencing, audio/video tapes, and TV or radio. Any particular course might use a combination of deliveries. Some courses are also available in the classroom and taught in association with one of AU’s partners. AU offers both paper-based and/or online courses. This means students do not need a computer unless registering in a computer course or online course. Students registering in online courses require access to a computer with an Internet connection. Check the web or calendar for specific information for each course or program.
Student assistance
The university has nearly 200 scholarships, leadership awards and bursaries ranging from $250 to $3,000 to assist and recognize both graduate and undergraduate students for their academic achievements and financial needs. All students are automatically considered for many of the academic scholarships; several more are available via application or nomination. |
